Starting from our hotel, we embark on a cycling journey towards the historic old town of Guadix, where a rich heritage of monuments awaits exploration. Notable landmarks include the medieval Arab Citadel, the Cathedral, and various Mudejar-style buildings. One distinctive aspect of this expansive town is the prevalence of cave houses, which serve as homes for many of its residents.
After a leisurely break and a stroll through the fascinating cave district, our cycling adventure continues towards the charming village of Purrullena. Venturing further, we pedal through the heart of the desert, passing isolated towns within the territory of the Granada Geopark, a UNESCO Global Geopark since 2020.
As we make our way, we encounter a secluded spot in Alicún de las Torres, where a peculiar natural formation catches our attention. A limestone wall, shaped over time by the precipitation and sedimentation of mineral salts carried by the water, stands 15 meters tall and stretches approximately 1 kilometre.
The cycling route concludes in the town of Gorafe, renowned for hosting the highest concentration of dolmens in Europe—among the earliest examples of architecture known to mankind. Before returning to our hotel, we pause at a panoramic viewpoint that offers a breath-taking vista of the arid Badlands enveloping the village of Gorafe.Top of Form

The Alpujarra region is a timeless enclave, preserving the legacy of the Moriscos from Granada and showcasing the harmonious relationship between humanity and the environment fostered by the Moorish culture of Al-Andalus.
Our day begins with a drive to the "Puerto de la Ragua," a mountain pass situated at an elevation of 2,000 meters, marking the boundary between the provinces of Granada and Almería. Enroute, we traverse charming villages offering breath-taking views of the valley and its terraced farms. On clear days, the panorama extends to the Mediterranean Sea and, on occasion, even Africa.
As we journey through, there are opportunities to pause and explore rustic villages, their distinctive architecture influenced by Berber occupation. These settlements boast flat-roofed, box-shaped white houses with tall round chimneys, tightly clustered along narrow, winding, and steep streets, clinging to the slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Our final destination is the hotel near the village of Cádiar, situated in proximity to the Guadalfeo River, offering panoramic vistas of the surrounding mountains

Renowned for its traditional method of ham drying, Trevélez holds a Denomination of Origin for the exceptional quality and rich flavor of its ham. The unique qualities of this product are attributed to the geographical surroundings, where climatic conditions such as altitude, temperature, and humidity contribute to its distinct character.

A city with history located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains. The cultural riches of Granada with influences from the Moors, Catholics, and Jews make this city in Spain into an important cultural centre with Moorish rule spanning 800 years of occupation.
Granada's role gradually increased within the Moorish realm and eventually became a kingdom with the stunning Alhambra palace. In 1492, the city was reconquered by the Catholic kings (Ferdinand and Isabel), due to which the Moors and Jews had to convert to Catholicism or flee the country. Slowly but surely, this caused the city to fall into economic and cultural decay for several centuries.
We start the day with a private guided tour of Alhambra and the gardens of the Generalife (UNESCO World Heritage Site) where you discover one of the best- preserved monuments of Islamic architecture in Spain.
The rest of the day you are free to explore more beautiful places and to try the Granada tapas which are known for serving free tapas with every drink. The tour guide will organize a place to have dinner together to celebrate the last evening of the journey.
