TRIP AT A GLANCE
Experience a 7-days guided walking holiday in the breathtaking Sierra de Grazalema. Grazalema, known for its rural charm and expansive limestone outcrops, offers a serene retreat into nature. Begin with 2 nights in Benaojan, enjoying a pleasant stroll along the ‘Mr. Henderson’s Railway’ route on the first day. The following day, embark on a longer walk through Valle de Libar before ascending to Villaluenga Del Rosario for an overnight stay. Continue to Grazalema village for the next 3 nights, where each day offers a choice of walks including the Goatherders Leap, ascent of Simancon (Cadiz province’s second highest peak), the Pinsapar route (seasonal), and two easier Grazalema loops.
This guided holiday is ideal for walkers comfortable with 5-7 hours of walking per day, featuring varied terrain with ascents and descents. Enjoy outstanding local cuisine in Grazalema and Ronda, known for their superb dining options.
Designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1977 and Andalucia’s first natural park in 1984, the Sierra de Grazalema spans 51,695 hectares of rugged limestone landscapes, including cliffs, gullies, caves, and the impressive Garganta Verde gorge with its griffon vulture colony. The park also boasts Andalucia’s largest cave system, Hundidero-Gato, and a unique Mediterranean plant ecosystem with over 1,300 species, including the rare Spanish fir in Sierra del Pinar. Explore the park’s diverse wildlife and stunning limestone formations as you journey from the west of Ronda through Villaluenga Del Rosario to Grazalema village, concluding with a memorable night in Ronda.
